A NOTE FROM HABEYIn January of 1984, Sir Ian McKellan received a gift of Habey’s Cookies while performing in Scenes from Shakespeare on Broadway. He loved the cookies and sent us a thank you note. He added a P.S.: “How about a Shakespeare Cookie?”
Thirty years later, McKellan was back on Broadway in Samuel Beckett’s Waiting for Godot and Harold Pinter’s No Man’s Land. On March 26, 2014, we met backstage at the Cort Theatre, where I presented the fully realized Shakespeare Cookie to him. Thanks, Sir Ian, for the inspiration!
